Since I was in Asia, the first "Tonight Show," which introduced with me with American late night TV shows was, Jay Leno's.
I did not understand English that much at that time but I liked his street interviews those were often included during his show time. (Actually, I do not understand English that much now, either.)
Any way, I watched his heartfelt goodbye greeting moment in youtube. After 22 years in the air, he left the show for new generation. All audiences, including me, will miss him.
And he said that "I am luckiest man in the world," because from presidents to astronauts to athletes to actors to actresses, and many famous others have sat by the table of Jay Leno, and made brief interviews; answering on funny and intelligently enough smart questions of Mr. Jay. By the way, similarly, I have heard this kind of goodbye greeting words from Luo Gehrig, one of the most famous baseball players who said, "I am the luckiest man on face of the earth," because of his successes and having a lovely family (his wife, in-laws and friends).
We all will miss you, Mr. Jay!
