CDs those I recently listened to: Great Speeches of the 20th Century (Volume 1)

Recently, I had to drive some of my friends to their works. On those days, I had to spend at least 4 to 8 hours a day in the car. Sometimes, I listened to music and had conversation with those friends, but sometimes, I listened to speeches and books in CD. (I will write here little bit about those books and CDs for my personal record.)

One of those CDs I listened to was - Great Speeches of the 20th Century (Volume 1: Presidential addresses), and the following speeches were included in the volume;

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” (FDR)

“…….a just and lasting peace, freely arrived at by individuals.” (Harry S. Truman)

“I want to tell you my side of the case.” (Senator Richard M. Nixon)

“Who shall say that the American dream is ended?” (Governor Adlai Stevenson)

“This election isn’t one for the record books; this election is one for the history books.” (Senator Barry Goldwater)

“I shall not seek, and I will not accept the nomination of my party for another term as your president.” (Lyndon B. Johnson)

“What we need in the United States is not hatred…” (Senator Robert. F. Kennedy)

“We find ourselves reaching for the moon but falling into raucous discourse on earth.” (Richard M. Nixon)

“1976 will not be politics as usual. It can be a year of inspiration and hope.” (Jimmy Carter)

“Government is not the solution to the problem; government is the problem.” (Ronald Reagan)

"This is how we were warned it would be.” (Governor Mario Cuomo)
